My old Linn/Naim system has been gathering dust for the last couple of years.

Briefly:
1986 LP12 Valhalla/Basik Plus/K9
Naim CD5i
Naim 32.5/110/SNAPS
Monitor Audio Silver 8i

All good cond - Naims are Chrome Bumper design with factory refurb in 2001

So - what's it worth and where to sell? Any thoughts?

Hi,

Other than the obvious such as eBay..

http://www.hifiwigwam.com/forum.php

http://www.vinylengine.com/turntable_forum/index.p...

are probably worth a go both to value and to sell.

Would you be able to let me know what sort of value these items are worth? I am keen to buy some quality equipment having messed about with mid range stuff for many years.

try Hififorsale and Pink Fish Media (although I think you have to have 'previous' on PFM to be able to post items for sale.

The Naim stuff tends to hold its value well but will depend on when it was last serviced.

You need 50 posts on Pink Fish I think, which is a shame as PF is quite Naim oriented, certainly compared to HiFi Wigwam.

Another option would be to try some of the dealers like secondhandhifi, or Midlands Audio Exchange. If they are interested, don't expect anything other than having your pants pulled down though.

To maximise the return, I think ebay might be the best bet. The problem there is dealing with the people who put bids on your stuff.

Maybe 500 tops for the Linn, 120 for each of the Naim boxes.

Naim 110 is a beautiful amp. Still using mine to bi-amp the centre on my AV system. Must be 30 years old, and never missed a beat.

Breaks my heart too. It's a lifetime of enjoying music and a good hi if system along with a huge vinyl collection started nearly 40 years ago going down the pan. If I still had the hearing of a 20 year old then I'd keep it.

Fact is I have moderate hearing loss and severe Tinnitus and just can't stand listening to music or going to live gigs anymore. banghead

Try TomTom audio if you want less hassle (realisation) than via fleebay, if the kit is in decent condition pretty sure they will buy it off you, or list it on their site and take a commy.

Although Pink Fish does have a Naim orientation I've never made particularly good prices on there. Everyone seems to want to steal stuff. I've always found eBay gets the best price for Naim.

Not sure on Linn as I've never owned any but did sell my Manticore on eBay to a lovely guy and a good price.

Try NaimlyLinn, they deal on Linn and Naim and offer very reasonable prices. www.naimlylinn.co.uk
