Series One Vixen owners, show me your header tank!
Discussion
As per thread title really.

Once I get the engine back together, the next step is the cooling system. My header tank is a mess and has holes in it. I probably need to get one fabricated, So I need to check that the one I have is the right one before I go ahead...................unless of course ............ someone has a spare they are willing to part with?? or one of our specialist comrades has one in stock?
I am not inclined to get an ally one, I'd rather have one that looks original if possible

Suggest getting a stainless one made and have it powder coated then it will be both better and look original.Once I get the engine back together, the next step is the cooling system. one of my cars has a brass cylindrical tank, I think this is the same as fitted to Granturas, the other car has a filler roughly grafted into the top hose.

Both cars are S1 vixens, one from early in the years production, the second from the last S1 vixens produced.

Matt, the header tank pictured below was made my Andy Wiltshire and is an exact copy of what I thought was the original. As you say, there may well have been various styles made. My Vixen was registered in Jan 69 and shares many of the parts used on the S1 so who knows! All I know is that my new header is well made, was reasonably priced and should do the job!
