After treating myself to a new (to me) Cayman 987 I find myself happy with the car smile but underwhelmed by the audio and Bluetooth.

Anyone got any recommendations for a good car audio centre who might be able to talk me through a few options?

Might not be simple. If it's anything like my 996 then the factory amp will be controlled by CANbus, and, as far as I remember, if it doesn't pick up a signal from it then it will flag up an error in the system. I think I ended up sending the feed from my Becker Cascade unit to a seperate amp and hooking in to the existing speaker wiring. This bypassed all the fibre optic and took it out the equation. Porsche don't seem to make it easy to upgrade the sound, I've heard the later cars are even harder to do some aftermarket sound upgrades.

If you're only going to upgrade speakers then disregard the above.

Not decided on speakers but have geard basic cdr-30 isn't as bad to replace - no separate amp atm.

Any shop suggestions?

No idea on shops as I done mine myself. I asked a couple of places for advice and they couldn't help as they wouldn't go near the canbus system.

If you don't have the amp then you might be ok. There's also some fairly simple security you need to be aware of but I can tell you offline if your installer isn't already aware.

OK - Why do you recommend them? I work in Morley, so that might work well.

Ive bought equiptment from them in the pass and have spent a fair bit of time in the shop just talking to them. i also know the history of them competing in sound-offs in the past and have seen the work they have done
