Now my Caterham has gone its time to scratch my long term itch to own a TVR :-)

Always fancied a Tamora after seeing a black one at the UK motor show years ago, so on Saturday I'm off to see this one http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

Just wondering if this car is known or if the last owner is a PH'er'?

Any model specific pointers on what look out for also very much appreciated

Roll on Saturday!

Matt

Wow,
That is some serious coin they are asking. Look elsewhere before buying. lower mileage and younger for less money...

That is a lot. Factory engine/brake/exhaust upgrades would normally point to a Red Rose model, but they don't use the phrase?

Plenty of others out there, don't buy the first one you see... (he says after buying the first Chim and Sag he saw...)

That's Simons car (he is on PH but I can't remember his ID).
Believe me when I say that whilst it's top money it's MINT. He lavished that car and it's never wanted for anything plus it had pretty much every conceivable extra from new - he also owned from new. In the flesh the colour is amazing. Heres some pics from 2006 in Monaco when we toured on the FB5K - the state of the car then compared with now should give you an idea how cherished she was. Simon washed it every day and was anal about warming up etc;

Thanks for the info. Condition is everything to me, much more important than a year younger car or slightly lower mileage, and I am willing to pay a little extra for the right car.

I understand from the dealer that they have looked after the car from new, which means I should be able to get a detailed run down of its service history from day 1.

Thanks again

Matt

No worries - if you want to speak with Simon I'm sure I have his details somewhere and can try and point him in your direction?
BTW - that's him in the last pic (black T) polishing his car yet gain in front of the Mirabeau hotel in Monaco smile

Looks fantastic. Can't be that many around with the electric lumbar support option .. worth it for that alone. :-)

It's not serious coin at all - it's about time the Tam was appreciated and good ones will always be worth the money, particularly the well-sorted later cars.

I can vouch for the condition of the car too, I have admired it every time I have been over at Bespoke it is mint!

I would have loved to have bought the car myself but it's a bridge too far for me at the moment sadly..

Go and take a look, the guys at Bespoke are the best in the business and will look after you.

With all that's been said seems a very fair price for that car .

Thanks for all your comments, sounds like a proper car which has been well looked after, which is reassuring

Think I will be up with the lark on Saturday morning.

Up bright and early this morning to look at the Tamora and was not disappointed when I arrived.

The guys at bespoke we're spot on and the condition was all that I hope for. Test drive was great and the car sounds awesome with plenty of banging and popping on the overrun :-)

Deal done, roll on the 4th May

Thanks for all your input, time to join the club.

Matt

Cool! Assuming you are in Herts, Beds area, you should come along to the Shuttleworth club meet sometime and say hi.

Also, see you had a 7 Lotus.

Did you attend the Lotus 7 meets in Thunderidge? If so, I may have meet you as
I attend there quite a bit when the weather is good and in the country.

Congratulations - you won't regret it and you have purchase probably one of the best specced and well cared for Tamoras in the country IMHO!
The biggest lesson with these cars is buy on condition not price and you've done just that smile
Will look forward to seeing it about!
