Left my m5 in BMW to have DAB updated. They updated DAB radio which still not working, and now car will not rev over 3500 when car is stationary. BMW said there is nothing they can do about it. Has anyone had a similar problem!
Warning do not bring Car to BMW as you will get the same restrictions! Can anybody help!!

Top lurking!

That seems incredible....so they're saying that there's nothing they can do about a car whose engine won't rev over 3500 rpm? Am I missing something?!

What I think the OP is saying is that when the car is stationery BMW have upgraded the software so that the engine will not rev past 3500rpm.

When Stationery.

To limit revs when car is not moving, is not uncommon - and it sounds like BMW have done it with a later version of software that is bundled up with the realease that fixes the DAB?

Or perhaps the OP's car is shafted and BMW could not give a toss smile

I suspect the former.

Shame.

Someone else told me about this - not sure it's a massive problem unless you like sitting at the lights revving the engine!?

It doesn't seem like a problem, but when you've paid for a car you should be able to do what you want with it! Who are BMW to tell you not to act like a boy racer silly

Well other than people who provide you warranty to cover the car.

But i've never heard of any other car being limited in doing this?

Side note - who actually sits reving engines anyway past 3.5k slit blips when you get bored
