Million dollar question !
Discussion
Hi guys
I know this question is a bit , how long is a piece of string, but I'm guessing I will be asking the right people.
How much would you expect to pay for a decent 350i about mid to late 80s.
I don't see enough for sale to come up with a reasonable ballpark figure.
Thanks in advance for any input

I have seen some real nice 350i wedges from 3-5K..This will probably start another what are our wedges worth thread..I mean "what are our wedges worth fred"... I think it also depends on what you consider to be a bargain..I would rather have a clean chassis and a strong engine over paint and carpet...
As much as you can afford! Buy the best you can find.
Lots about for 3k right down to 1500. I paid 4k for mine which I think may have been a little high but I was pleased with it for that money. I've since spent about 1500 quid at a guess. Hense the statement buy the best you can. (I only bought it at Christmas)
If I was in the market now I would be looking at the Brown one for sale on PH and eBay not everyone's cup of tea colour wise but it looks a nice car. And has had all issues sorted I believe.
There was also a nice looking red car for about 3k eBay but the add and subsequent questions have failed to provide much info and it's to far to go and take a look.
Just my thoughts.

Lots for sale on eBay at the moment to give you an idea of condition vs value. My eye keeps being drawn to the brown car I happen to quite like the colour - maybe I'm just weird - but alas lack of funds doesnt allow me to bid . By my reconing most running mot'd v8's range between 3-5 grand at the moment.
Hi Karl
That's exactly what I want to avoid, spending money on something that's not a project and then having to she'll out immediately after.
I guess I just wanted to know how much you would have to spend to be safe,i know that would be in an ideal world
But felt I needed to put the question out there.
Cheers

Hi
Again agree buy the best you can afford £3 to 5K will get you a good car
In that range you have a good choice of colours and trim colours.
If you can hold out till the fest you will get the chance to see how varied the colours compos are! Also there may be a couple for sale. I certainly plan on having at least one there which will be for sale. (If we get the refub done by then)
But you must check the chassis and the obvious places for damage on what ever car you look at, don't be blinded by bling and flashy colours because they could hid a few things!

Also bear in mind that you will always be doing something to the wedge..whether it be fixing something or getting something done to your taste..Even with a well sorted wedge..I havent seen that many people not doing or wanting to do something to their pride and joy...If you want a turbulent love affair with any car then it has to be a wedge...
