I went fishing and saw...

I've had my camera out alot recently but it's been for work and no play so last night was the first time I have had a chance to shoot something different. I popped to a lake with a mate for a fish and whilst busy not catching I got some shots in a bit of a different style that I am used to. Let me know what you think.

5. There is some heavy CA on this shot but Lightroom doesn't seem to make any impact on it. It is obviously a crop and shot at high ISO which doesnt help.

6. The bank is a bit soft in this by I just liked the contrast between the bank and the wwater.

Not at all a bad set for an evening dossing about ....

Last two may be a tad dark in the dark bits? Probably easy to lift them a little. Lower Mid tones.

ETA@: By which I mean lift the lower mid tones ....

I really like the second one, appeals to the engineer in me.

Would you mind if I borrowed it for my desktop wallpaper please?

A constructive point if I may? The shot with the Coots looks like a combination of heavily backlit subjects which you've had to bring the black/ shadow sliders up a lot on to get detail combined with a slower than optimum shutter speed which has caused some motion blur, hence the fringing.

Thanks. It was not ideal, the shot was taken just after sunset and at F4 at 200mm iirc. If it was half hour earlier, i could have sped up the shutter and got a clearer shot. What I liked about it and the reason I didnt bin it was that the water drops are sharp(ish) and the Coots have some motion to them. I thought that it added to the mayhem of their fight.
