Dearest Garlick

You're great and everything. Just the best. Even your smoky Tivver is the bees knees. However, the Google search facility is rubbish and we need the PH one back immediately.

Frinstance.

This morning i came across an article which would have backed up a contention that I made last year on one of the Olympics threads. I Google searched "Olympics" & "London Olympics" the reply?

"Sorry, no results found!"

I'm pretty sure at least one person must have mentioned them in passing last year. scratchchin

Please can we have the PH search back? Otherwise how will I be able to find out what people are saying about me, errrr........win pointless arguments months after everyone else has completely forgotten, navigate around your wonderful site?

Thanking you.

i've not forgotten the t shirt issue either.

How are you using the google search? If just going to googles page, you need to use something like this

blib London Olympics site: pistonheads.com

O/T: When I type Blib into google, it wants to auto fill it to say "blib blob" hehe

I was just going to post a thread about the search engine so I will ask the question here if I may?

Dear Haymarket, the search function barely worked back in the day of Petrol Ted but at least it was functional if a little slow.

My rhetorical questions are:

1) Are there any plans for an upgrade / overhaul of the search engine
2) As you are a fully fledged business - is there anything in this years' budget for the search function?
3) Is there a date where you expect the issues to be resolved?

I thought that if I asked this in a business like manner I might get a business like response hehe

This post was motivated by the hundred of opening posts that start with, "Apologies if this has been posted before, I tried to search but the search engine is borked.." etc.

Not a dig, just a genuine enquiry smile

The techies are I think concentrating on the new mobile classifieds site?
Until they do & have some spare time try using google
Site: PistonHeads keywords http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site:+pistonheads...

You don't really need to (remember to) do the "site:" bit, just typing "pistonheads search is useless" is enough to find this thread....

Just go to the normal google search www.google.co.uk and type in things you are searching for like this.

Just stick pistonheads at the end of any search, don't forget if you are looking for a specific phrase use inverted commas around the words like this:
