What is the best pair of noise-reducing headphones under $75, and what are some criteria to research?
Looking for a pair of headphones to use on car rides, but not too many times, so not looking to spend a lot. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

When you say "car rides" do you mean as driver or passenger?

I hate noise cancelling so can't offer much input there, but would say if you are talking about as a driver Isolating the surrounding noise would be a bad idea.

If as a passenger, sure someone will be along who has some they can recommend

I've been using a previous version of these:

Not active-cancelling (you didn't specify), but they are very cheap and very good. Do a nice job of blocking out office/car/plane noise, especially as the sound is so good.

An assumption on my part but the fact the O.P. Quotes dollars makes me think they might not be used in our fair Isles.

I had the CX300 and the cable where it attaches to the earpiece broke after a few weeks. It's really thin and poorly protected.
