I have an 08 V8V, I have done 22K miles and the clutch started slipping in 5th at 4KRPM.
So rather than being stuck on a recovery truck, I opted to get it fixed straight away. And I didn't want to do it again in 22K miles time, I opted for the twin plate installation from Bamford Rose. Should last in excess of 70K miles.
While the car was in bits it seemed a shame not to have the flywheel off and get a new lightened version fitted.

I picked it up yesterday. What a difference. The twin plate is fantastic to use with just enough resistance on the pedal to know it's not another throttle, probably 20% of the pressure required to push the old clutch down. No juddle or smell (unlike the old). The combination of the reduced clutch diameter and the lightened flywheel makes pickup much better throughout the rev range.

The combination of the previous Bamford Rose exhaust and CAT mods and the clutch and flywheel work have made this car a much more usable and responsive car.

I have had a spirited drive in a V8V 4.7 and now my 4.3 feels tighter and quicker.

Highly recommend the mods and Bamford Rose. They never fail to impress.

Just out of interest, what happens with your insurance company when you advised the of the modification? By how much did they load the policy if at all?
