So Record Store Day has come around again so here's you chance to tell PH what you bought, what you missed out on, and how pissed off you find the things you missed out on being listed on the e bay.

Bought: Calexico, Metronomy, White Stripes, Tame Impala
Missed out on: Kate Bush, 50-odd listed on ebay frown Anyone got a spare? wink

It is annoying that so many items have turned up on ebay so quickly. I couldn't get to my participating store until early afternoon. Very little of interest was left, so I can't complain too much, but it is annoying that a day set up by enthusiasts for enthusiasts has been hi-jacked by people out to make a fast buck.

Having said that, it certainly does the job as the store was full of people browsing through all of the stock, not just the RSD releases.

I have to agree that where it`s good for the independant stores in sales wise , it hurts the true collectors and vinyl junkies when all these people just set out to buy vinyl to put on ebay to make double their money for those who cant make rsd for opening times due to other commitments I.E work and family matters only to find when they do get there in afternoon to find all the GOOD releases are gone and on ebay , very annoying to say the least

Fun day, four new releases, four classics.

Introducing Shuggie Otis
Taj Mahal - The Natch'l Blues
Nick Drake - 1971 US Reissue
Foals - My Number

Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica
Ry Cooder - Crossroads
Ry Cooder - Chicken Skin Music
Bobby Caldwell - Carry On

Queue was around the block for Sister Overpriced Ray in Soho. WHY? Wandered over to Ray's Jazz Café, the chap there said that he looked for a queue in the morning, but didn't see one. I said, it's because you've got decent records all the time, rather than one day of year. Me-oww.
