My 46mm set is going on this week but I will only be able to compare with standard.
Hoping for BIG improvement.
It will be considerably faster on A roads, give your self a few days to get readjusted to the car, the big thing i found is it makes overtaking easier, as the car does not get unsettled, but its easy to get over confidentHoping for BIG improvement.
For me its much more about good composure over crappy B roads and pointyness/feel than how much faster it can potentially be.
Right now the Tamora sometimes makes me cringe when going over potholes and undulations where my elise would handle it much more gracefully.
At times I think there are bumps that the tam damped well or even better than the elise, so I guess it has a comparatively smaller range of frequency inputs that it can dampen effectively.
You might be able to find more info about 40 vs 46 over at the lotus forums since they have had them for ages. Last year I drove a racing elise equipped with 46's for a few laps on an airfield (rough surface) and it was utterly sublime, really very different/better than the oem's on my elise sc. So I guess I'm expecting a lot!
My experience so far of quality shocks has been that despite being stiffer they can be less harsh/more comfortable at the same time.
I've been told the adjust-ability on these nitrons is very good, you can go from comfy ride to very track focused.
I'm not sure how valid my review will be given that the car will obviously also benefit from a alignment reset... I suspect it's quite off, but I'll try to get before and after geo printouts.

You will ALWAYS feel an improvement when upgrading suspension from an old knackered set.
Full geo set up will improve things anyway, then newer springs will do the same. Next you have picked well with Nitron so the shocks themselves will be better and lighter.
YOU WILL see improvement if fitted by a competant fitter.
Best thing is to go to an iffy road that you know well and drive it before and after.
Don't try too hard, just see how the car behaves. Note where the car was unsettled and or crashey and then compare at roughly the same speed with the new kit.
Do it soon and do it twice. Thats it.
After that your driving will start to adapt to the changed conditions in the car and the feeling will be less noticeable.
Guy (Nitron) did a very good set up/info page a while ago that I put up on the web (see below). We did some development with Guy on the NTR when they got into TVRs in 2003? Had nothing else on my cars since. They are the dogs danglies IMHO.

Fitted a set of 46mm about 6 weeks ago with 500/400 Eibach springs.
The have a similar feel to my old Monos.
They feel good on the road, a little firm but that's what you expect with a set up suitable for TDs.
I used the car in anger at North Weald Car Limits day a week ago and the high speed handling was superb, even with the damping set on the softer road setting. I even achieved second fastest lap of the day behind a GTR, hooray!
When you order they should ask you how you want the valving set, I asked for more GT3 then Turbo S iyswim.
