It's started already...

On page 31 of this week's Auto Express is the headline: "Thrilling climax to supercar ride".

Beneath it is a bit of scribble about the new strapline (or should it be straponline?) and an image of it that looks very similar to the one posted on here last week. The last line of the story is the best, though:

"A company spokesman told us the badging has been a bit hit with customers."

I wonder who the spokesman was and which customers he was referring to?

It seems Smolenski has brought some old soviet style media-spin ideas with him to TVR.

Does this mean new cars are leaving the factory with this on?

If I turned up at the factory or a dealer and found that Max Power cack on my car I'd go ballistic

Probably a good job I can't afford a new one...

My comments on other threads detail my disgust over the "Orgasmic Living" crappy livery.

However, just as a tester I asked a junior accountant in a client business as to his opinion...

He said he loved it.

I kid you not.

He drives a beaten up old audi and loves tvrs... this would indicate that there are non-tvr owners and potential tvr customers that are loving this ogasmic stuff.

By the way, he couldn't explain to me why he liked it..he just thought it was cool.

hmmm... still not convinced, however that's one vote for the livery.

Regards,

N

Just looked it up in Auto Express......

What can we do about it except vote with our feet and our wallets...

Not sure how I feel about my Trevvie at the moment but I do know I will not be trading up if the logo stays. That is a definate.

I dont imagine for one minute that new cars will have the logo. Not a single person would buy one. Surely its just something thay have (unwisely) decided to stick on press demonstrators, factory courtesy cars, and the like.

Absolutely. I would've thought that Press cars would also be bereft of such adornments - they'd just look silly stickered up.

I imagine, though, that you'll find the legend written on polo/t-shirts, jackets, flags, watches, wallets, keyrings and all other TVR accessories. Anywhere you used to find The Spirit of Driving. Sadly, though, that might also encompass magazine ads, the website and motorshow stands...

God, lets hope not! If so, I wonder if anyone actually did any proper marketing research on it to gauge public opinion?

Perhaps the car club might like to write a letter on their meber's behalf - don't know where they stand on matters like this though...

As far as I understand, NS canvassed opinion within the factory for a new slogan, then came up with Orgasmic Living himself. As it was his idea, it was the winner...

My company is a marketing agency - we could've come up with something far, far better than that. But, then again, so could my recently deceased cat, the late Harry.

If Harry caughed up a hairball as gross as that no wonder he's dead. I'd have killed him too.

Sorry, not meaning to make light of your pets demise.

I hope he doesn't blame the workers when he gets no returns on his investment.
