How overpriced is this - if at all?

Over the odds? I've seen and driven it and it is immaculate.

That's an absolute bargain.
It would be worth an extra few thou if it had black leather interior though....

Neil.
Edited to confess: I was having a bit of fun: I have a black Tuscan S, with black leather. Joking aside, that's a lot to pay for the "reassurance" of buying from (any) garage.

It's just that this is £4k cheaper:

I know it has more miles but seems nice also...

I would go take a look at the private owner car. Ask
to see all the documentation...if its as good as its described
in the ad there should be masses of paperwork to go
with it. You could also phone Raceproved. I have
just bought a 4.5 Cerbera privately; my criteria were:
- Is the car the right spec/colour (yes 4.5/yes silver exterior/black/mulberry interior)
- Is the car immaculate (yes concourse car/full rebuild/show car...on TVR stand at NEC)
- What documentation comes with the car (yes ...pretty much every piece of paper/MOT's/Tax/discs/receipts bla bla)
- What's the owner like (is he/ she a nice chap/believable/honest...they point out the faults with the car also...Darren Field who owned and rebuilt my car is an absolute gem)
My son recently bought himself an M3 CSL privately...same criteria ...his car is faultless also...
Trust this helps. Good luck.

Yep, all good advice. I've purchased 2 different cars privately in my time that were >£35k so I'm not averse to the possibility.
There's another S also:

2001 and 35k miles but another £3.5k cheaper and also looks nice. I'm not sure about the interior but I like the grey paint.
The warranty on the Kerridges car doesn't cover engine failure - according to them, bad practice with warming the engine can knacker the followers in 3 weeks so they consider them wear and tear items. Even 12 months of that isn't worth much to me.

Thats not on - its widely known that SP6 engines have material quality issues - to not cover engine failure in that context is just bullsh!t. That said i would also struggle to believe that you could 'knacker' an engine in 3 weeks unless you were being a complete idiot!!
I would go elsewhere just based on that.
Kerridges have phoned me and informed me they have arranged cover with another warranty company who will cover the finger followers so fair enough - credit where it's due. I should also point out that they were extremely generous with their time and obviously very knowledgeable.
