Just went outside to go to town to relieve the bank balance a bit, and what did I find?

A learner doing a reverse park round my car!! Of all the 50 odd cars parked in the bays down the road they had to pick the GRP one!! The only one that would hev been written off had said learner hit it! I was not happy!!

Now I take great car to park away from the majority of cars so that trucks do not hit me or careless drive nudge me, why did he have to pick my car!! It's strange that the car attracts numpties. On Monday I came out of work to find that the producer from our publishers had parked 6" off my front bumper. There was half a mile of space in front of him, but he felt he had to try and weld his Lexus to the front of my car. As he was about 30m behind me, I made a big show of starting the car, walking round the front, looking at the gap, shaking my head and exclaiming loudly along the lines of "How fing close?!"

I then removed the roof, reversed up, turned the wheel and dropped the clutch, leaving him in a big cloud of tyre smoke. He's a miserable goit anyway.

rant over.

And calm.....

I usually take 2 spaces, somtimes three sideways ocasionally 4 (at the supermarket etc, away from all the other motors)

I have only once ever used 1 space, nothing happened, but I will never do it again

Depending where Im going, I park 5 minutes walk from town, gives me time for a ciggie and keeps the car safe from numpties (not easy if you live in a big town, I suppose)

Most folks these days are inherently lazy, therefore I always park in the furthest corner of any car park where there’s a guaranteed space away from all the other twats who are either unable to park or incapable of getting out of their car without resting their door on my paintwork..

Finished ranting now......

I find even when I park in the backend of beyond some part still wants to try to kiss the GRP.

Parked during the week at the furthest end of a quiet underground carpark, neatly on one space (ukbob I like your way of doing it I'm just too polite!) and get back to find a Cayenne S right next to me

The doors on that tank would be enough to write of an S, the thing was we were on a row of perhaps thrity spaces with three cars there...

Similarly, I followed a girl into our car park at work this morning (not in the stalking pervy kind of way) and she passed thirty odd empty spaces and squeezed (just about) into a tiny, itzy, bitzy teeny, weeny space between 2 other cars where she must have struggled to open her door ....... .....why?

Don't remind me!

Mind you, it's one way of getting shiny new paintwork - if you don't mind an 8 week wait!

In March 2003 someone pulled out in front of me on a roundabout, resulting in new bonnet hinge frame and pins plus reglassing and full respray of bonnet (plus 6 week in a 'substitute' diesel Astra estate ). £2500 of repairs.

February 2004 someone ran into the back of me requiring full rebuild of back end, after negotiations with insurance to avoid write-off (full thread with photos here). Original quote = £5800 - final work, involving rebuilt rather than replacement of rear end, = £3800. Absense = 8 weeks.

Hopefully the numpty magnet was disabled when I sold the S!
