Disco 1 may go - for a 'Proper' RR - NOT SPORT

has spurred me on to asking the following question...
So any replacement HAS to be a full RR.
Ideally FFRR of any kind but happy to go for Fuel Consumption as we will do a few miles in it!
With a FFRR we won't commute as much (if at all) in our 996 so hopefully that detail will give you some background.
Our commute is not horrendous but will involve at least 1 100 mile each way commute each week.
So, there is obviously some cut off where the fun of a FFRR is replaced by the sense of a Diesel V6/8. I have always looked at the DTV6 and V* but am starting to think that the price differential between a full on proper FFRR makes sense when you consider the price vs economy?
Any real world experience of similar dilemmas out there....? PLEASE????
