Crowd at Bahrain

Just watching the F1 race at Bahrain. Been to Silverstone for the last 4 years and was just wondering why it looks so quiet at Bahrain!!!! Does anybody know the crowd numbers at the various events.

Sunday in Bahrain for us is a Monday for them, so everybody is at work! The locals just dont get motorsport and people from Dubai, Qatar and Saudi just dont go to Bahrain.

Oh the locals get motorsport and there's plenty of Saudis etc that pop in every weekend..

The ticket prices are a reason you won't see the stands packed.. In fact most people turned up towards the end just for the Ne-Yo concert after the race!

There's also a massive police presence, checkpoints every 500 yds, protesters being beaten in the streets. You wouldn't come here if you didn't live here or had to be here for work. Also over 2 hours to get into the track as security tighter than at an airport.

I'm just getting out of dodge now. Only here briefly for work.

Look even Fernando is looking glum next to me in the lounge at Bahrain.
