Hi,

I've recently purchased a Contour+2 camera and I'd like to use the external mic input to record the exhaust sound on my Monaro the trouble is I'm completely clueless when it comes to things audio. I figure I'll need a mic with a wind sock to help eliminate as much unwanted noise as possible but beyond that's where you guys come in smile. What mic would be best suited to my requirements?

Thanks,

Emma.

A lot of people (including myself) have had good luck with the Audio Technica ATR3350. While it comes with a foam windsock you may want to try and locate one of those furry kittens things to put over the top to remove any chance of wind noise.

One last thing - The ATR3350 is a 3.5mm plug but I vaguely recall that the Contour has a 2.5mm socket for an external mic? So you may need an adapter.

The contour comes with an adaptor so that's covered.
