The keene kit is very good. However as an alternative might I suggest a Harmony remote with RF capability built in for less than £180

I can't overstate the difference a good remote makes to your system and while the 900 isn't the latest it's a very good remote

I have a Logitech 900, and it works most of the time, but it was spectacularly fiddly to set up (terrible Mac software 18 months ago - may have been updated since), and becomes annoying if you want to do anything that you haven't set up as an 'activity' already. There is also sometimes (but not always - it's a bit erratic) a delay on the button presses being received. In hindsight, I'd probably have gone with an IR repeater, and just got used to using more than one remote..
Yep what he said.
I've actually found that you can also stick the eye to the shelf in front of your kit and control a couple of devices stacked on top of each other. Additionally the eyes I use are translucent plastic so stuck on a glass shelf can control a device on the shelf below as well with no problem.

They are only £6 each. It may work ok, but for that cost you might as well get what you need.
Agreed. In fact mine aren't the keene ones they are actually the ones included with the RF extender for my Philips Pronto remote so I can't guarantee the Keene ones are the same. I actually have 8 of the buggers, the extender has 4 jacks and each eye has 2 cables and eyes on it. I my case it works well because I can hide them away much better, for example the eye to control a SkyHD box is hidden under my amp on the glass shelf above and not stuck on the front. Wouldn't bother if it was in a cupboard though. Gassing Station | Home Cinema & Hi-Fi | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
