Headlight ON warning?
Discussion
Having successfully flattened the battery on my 944 recently by leaving the parking lights on, I couldn't help but wonder why a £40k car didn't come with a warning buzzer as standard!
Anyway, does anyone know of an after-market solution?
I imagine some sort of buzzer connected between two suitable pins within the relay box should do it, but the cunningness of the solution evades me...

if you have an earlier model 944 then there is an extra big clue to the fact that youve left your parking lights on - the pop-up lights at the pointy end will be sticking up. If you have an S2 it IS possible to leave the parking lights on with the pop-ups in the down position in which case all I can recommend is selling it for an 8v version like the 2.7 - the engine wear is far less and its cheaper to run - especially as youre less likely to need a call out for a flat battery!
a slightly less facetious answer, of course, is that 944s are all rather old now, and when they were kicking around new I dont think audible alarms were a regular feature on any models, 40K or otherwise, save perhaps the odd esoterica and maybe a top of the range Beamer.
I'm not aware of any mod kits available but youre right - it shouldnt be hard. Why not ask a trusty independent? JZMachtech seem to know just about everything about everything porsche
