Don't know about anyone else but it's sunny I've had my car a year and a bit, got her sorted, it's her birthday this month 13 yrs old, and I'm having another day off. Loads of paperwork to do but how can I, when there's not a cloud in the sky.

This feels like the first driving day where I can drive along thinking, I'm not dropping oil, indicators work, it don't overheat, it don't rattle, it's the car I new I'd get if I believed!!! Satisfaction indeed.

Just got to look at the map, find somewhere to go!

Keep tivin.

Alun, its more interesting if you dont use a map, just drive then drive some more and then when you feel ready (i would say get bored but that would not be right), return to from whenst you came.

Here here!
Throw your maps and satnavs in the bin.
Some of my best drives have been while 'heading in the general directions of', and "sorry I'm late, no the car didn't break down"... biggrin

Better still, rather than turning around, drive back in the general direction on a different route

Follow a compass heading, say 30degrees West and see where it leads you. STOP if you come to open water !!!!

Prop bolts very virtually hand tight as the nylock nuts were shagged.
Picked up new today.

I assume that was it!

A day turned into two with the dog, south coast walking, well driving mostly.
Boys the one thing you missed about direction of travel, I look at the forecast and go in the direction of the best weather.

Yesterday it was down south, like a magnet I was drawn!

Good thing cos I've done another 300 odd miles all with the roof off.

I'm either punch drunk or punch hardened cos my headaches gone!

Having nearly bent the car in half at Marham trackday last wk end, the car demonstrated in wonderous ways the extremes the car can operate in. Polor opposites, massive strain, burbling along effortless.
Now I've got to grips with the Gaz gold PRO's, got a nice road setting at last, It's as thrilling turning that wheel on gentle road cornering as flat out cornering in third on a track, its odd really but you still have to drive with great skill. That's the joy.

Slow the cars need skill, fast the car is as good as you are, if your good she says Hell yeah come on then, and shows you she's still better than you, if your insane you can corner nutty fast in these things!

Err back to thread, I'm beaming. Car has a gearbox issue but it's been there since I got her really so I will sort it out,

The usual really, people waving, kids on a beach tour, teacher just starting a speech, oh dear I fired the beast up, this is Bridport, all the kids spun and turned to watch the car slowly drive away, sorry. I'm sure a Porsche would not have got that reaction, never. It's the noise spellbinding, you could control people with it's power. Lol lol lol.

It's stuff like that that reminds me why I own a Tiv, I'm privileged and it's worth all the repairing, anyday.

Last thing on the way home pulled into a lay-by........ Cos I was nearly lost! bleeding trucker was out his cab like a flash, What's going on here I thought, next second he's on me like the egg from my bacon butty? Oh mate oh what's that,oh mate it beautiful. I spent 5 mins giving him a history lesson and convinced him to buy one, acted cool, drove out the lay-by, still not knowing where I was going, doah.

I've done thousands of miles in her and other than a sore left foot, heavy clutch, I just never get bored, it's true the sea is a pain in the arse, I'd be in Rome by now.
Al.
