Can anyone tell me why my fuel gauge has decided to read full when it definitely is not. Cerb hasn't been used much this looong wet winter and on first outing (after some clutch issues) the fuel gauge read full until after a burst of throttle it settled to read correctly. Unfortunately starting up this morning it has moved back to full again.

Any ideas?

Can you explain that Jhonno? I'm not bad with spanners but still need Haynes manual guide!

There is a float in the fuel tank which I believe can get air in it, meaning it'd read higher than it should. Could also be an electrical glitch as I imagine it works by changing resistance to the gauge.. Or something like that.

The float is meant to be full of air... that's why it floats. It possibly was getting stuck on the side of the tank. Its easy enough to take out from the centre top of the tank. Also check the electrical connection to it. If it becomes disconnected (or the wiring is damaged) I believe the gauge reads full.

Ah bks! (With the capital B), I meant fuel in the float.. Which wouldn't give the symptoms described! Brain fart..
