S2000 Exhaust Mod
Discussion
Hi all
Has anyone heard of the S2000 exhaust mod? I used to have an S2000 with the mod and it sounded beautiful. I was wondering if it possible to do the same on the MX5.

Some Americans results (compare it to stock S2000 exhaust clips) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfQbUBeImBg
I'm looking at buying an MX5 in the next couple of weeks or so. If it doesn't work, I don't mind, just wondered if anyone had given it a go.

I've seen it before - it works as you have the split backbox with two tailpipes.
It wont really work on a stock MX5 as the exhaust is a different design. (Mk3 possibly, as it has twin tailpipes).
However - its not really required because after market parts for MX-5s are a small fraction of the price of those for the S2000 (Same for OEM parts). I know this because I very recently nearly bought an S2000, and it was the MASSIVE increase in costs of running/fixing/tinkering over even top quality MX5 bits, that put me off.
A good quality aftermarket cat back exhaust from a proven supplier can be had for less than £200, I don't think you can get anything at all like that for the Honda.

You're in the same position I was. I went for 28mm mod which sounds very quiet on a cruise, no drone at all, but loudens up nicely when you put your foot down. I wish I went for 30mm though. I wanted just a bit more noise.
Here is 28mm vid
Here is 32mm vid
Here are some Americans with 38mm, 44mm etc
EDIT: Just noticed I posted the Americans' link again.
