...a Talivan operating in darkness?

With the winter hours of darkness arriving, I was hoping that the Talivan would be restricted somewhat. I suppose in a well lit area it would still be operational, but what about a pitch black minor road with no streetlamps?

I work nightshift and I have never seen a Talivan out at night. Thank goodness.

Been warned several times of a "speed trap" in darkness in Sheffield.

Type not specified, but can't imagine plod standing with a tripod in the dark, so assumed 'twas a cash harvesting van......

Dorset's mini gatso in scamera van is about around Bournemouth in the late hours. Wiltshires trapol use lasers at night but will pull you over (eventually )

I don't think the talivans do though as they use video to collect the evidence & the laser dot in the screen will probably be too difficult to determine who it was they caught.

Be warned though lasers work just at well at night but some cars headlights they don't like.

xenon headlights.

They flicker at high frequency, and upset the reflected laser light of the LTI 2020.

Keeping the roads safe whilst they're empty. Good work.

In the pitch darkness, how does a laser corroborate a police oficer's opinion that the speed limit is being exceeded - if he can't see you?
