New member to the fold

After years of dreaming of one day owning a TVR, especially a cerbera, I've finaly taken the plunge and bought a 1997 4.2 in Brooklands Racing Green. I bought it privately from a guy in it's home town of Blackpool. What a machine!! The looks, the power, the sound are all amazing. I haven't even owned it a week yet, but I've already polished it 3 times and go in the garage to admire it every time I walk past the garage door into the kitchen, please tell me this is normal behaviour for a respectable married man to be doing! As I said, the car is simply amazing to drive. The only issue I have is that when the car is driving along at 'normal' speed 40 - 60 mph, the car feels a bit jerky, like the engine is 'hunting' slightly. During acceleration the car pulls like a train, it's only when the car is cruising steadily. Any ideas anyone? Could it be a fuelling issue? A trip to Joospeed may be on the cards.

Could be throttlepots. HT leads, Throttle linkage etc..

Mine still runs a little jerky, but 90% better than before the throttle pots were changed. Not too expensive. Think they are about £30 each.

hunting! mine does this about 20-30mph I'm guessing this is the same thing.

The funny little niggles is just one of the thinks that is endiring me to this car!

Welcome Rob .

From my experience (owner since May and still feels like the honeymoon period ) Cerberas run rough under 4000rpm's.

Mine has become alot smoother just by driving it and getting used to modulating the throttle.

Cerb's don't like more than 3rd gear at 30mph and will never feel like other road cars!

The pay of is a car with more character than anything the sensible side of 60k and looks/interior/speed/handling to die for even after 8 years of production .
