hot start problem...
Discussion
Is there such a thing on the M series?
My taimar cranks over brilliant from cold, but drive it anywhere then switch off and back on while warm still and it'll turn one revolution...stop for about half a second then turn and fire up.
I dont recall having the problem last year but it appears to be here now..
The earth lead used to be dodgy so battered it with a hammer and soldiered the ends.
I have though (thinkin about it) re routed the starter wire from the battery to the bulk head end of the stsrter and then goes along the engine to its terminals, last year it went from the battery to infront on the exhaust manifold then between the manifold and block to the starter connections.
Self inflicted? Or time for a new lead regardless?

I like Dryden's thinking! You might want to review this thread. Could be that the PVS isn't working meaning that the dizzy stays advanced even when hot. You could try just disconnecting the vacuum pipe from the dizzy when hot to see if the problem goes away.

I have an earth lead from the back of the engine/bell housing to the chassis and ah yes I see your point, one from the chassis to battery.
Definatly worth a change for a try.
Coil is brand spanker, only month and a half old. Fitted same time as the EI.
Weirdly tonight I did my normal, got home, turned off engine, open gates and garage, restart car (didn't do it as much as normal) and car away.
