My left headlight won't go up - the motor tries but doesn't make it.
I have had the assembly apart expecting to find a stripped gear, but everything looks OK, except I am not sure what it is supposed to look like.

Has anyone serviced one of these things?

In order to see your problem, you need to remove the metal axle from the plastic gear. You will see much disintegrated plastic. To repair, make three of what I call, "pucks" of about 12 mm diameter. I used high density polyethylene but a ryton or kynar polymer would be better, however, tougher to form. Put them in the voids between the two gears, you can see how the triangles fit together, and reinstall. I have done them on both lights now. and work fine.
