Morning.

This morning I noticed that I have the tiniest of cracks where the rear screen folds, nothing major but it's there.

Any tips on where to get hold of a rear section? Is it an easy fit and is there a chance I could source a used one to save cost?

Ta in advance

I think a decent trimmer can stitch in a new rear window if the actual mohair is in reasonable condition and it is pretty cheap to do. Don't know of any trimmers down south though.

Paul, chat with Fernies and your insurer.

Last time mine went the insurance covered it under the 'glass' part of the policy and Fernies arranged the job for me.

Really? Does that not impact on next years policy? I guess I'll need to check my windscreen cover...

Trimmer sounds good too as the roof is in good order otherwise.

I stress the tear is tiny, I only noticed it when my finger ran over it and it's hard to see unless you know where to look, but it's not going anywhere and I assume it will get larger soon.

A company called Monsoon in East Sussex did mine last year. New window. Excellent job. Looks like new. Recommend.

Nope no effect at all it was covered as glass so you pay the excess (£50 or so) and job done.

Have a look at mine on Sunday just had the whole lid re-trimmed at a good price by my Trimmer that does all my work. IMO if you're going to do it, do the whole thing. Well worth it for an extra few hundred and it makes the whole car look better !

That's interesting on the insurance. I have checked my policy and it states glass and windows. It doesn't say the windows have to be made of glass. Something to bear in mind certainly.

Thanks, I will. I'm normally stuck on the gate but will do my best to wander over. If possible, say hi as you arrive so I know the car to head for when I'm free smile
