Hi - I normally have the steering wheel adjusted as far out as it comes and as high as it goes, but I've noticed that the clamp (for want of a better word) isn't holding.

It's normal to use the wheel when getting in or out but the slightest pressure on the top causes it to drop.

I'm assuming it's a simple mechanism and access to the area looks to be straightforward with a couple of screws holding the top & bottom halves of the column housing.

Has anyone experienced similar or care to pitch in any suggestions?

Thanks

I like the wheel as high as it goes and in my last two, it has always dropped - design flaw I guess.....

Take the top colunm cover off, 2 x pozi screws.2 x 13mm nuts either side of column adjuster, sounds like they've come loose.

Just for the record - a 10 minute fix. The offending item is akin to a coach bolt - domed head on left, nut on right. The "clamp" needs to be in the set position, otherwise the whole thing rotates - two flats tightened & perfect.
