s...o I've just fitted my original drivers seat again as my Tuscan ones are off to be re-trimmed. You know what...the original ones seem to offer so much more support its ridiculous. What exactly do those bolsters on the Tuscan seats do except hold the head-rest on?

Has anyone here gone back to original seats after having different ones?

Given the number of road tester complaints about the lack of lateral support in Tuscan/T-car seats in the mags, I am not surprised really... Cerbie seats probably the best (except for very late Saggies that got pukka Sparcos...), they look like they weigh a bit more than the Chimaera seats though.

Tuscan seats are not good for support - though they do look good. If you want decent seats in a Chim you need those from a Cerb.

Driving a chim with standard seats at a TD last week, I almost fell out the seat it had so little support, so the Tuscan seats must be Y Fronts!

My simple Elise seats have sooo much more support.

Horses for courses. I'll be driving the Chim to Munich and back in two weeks for work, and I wouldn't entertain the thought of that in an Elise seat. smile

In my experienc Elise seats may grip you better but they are hardly seats just clamps & not very conducive for anything other than a track day.

The Chim seats are great for fast road & touring use both comfy & supportive, but if i were tracking regularly i would be fitting a CGlock or harnesses along with a roll bar or even have a track special instead if you are serious.

Opposite experience from me, I find on track days Tuscan seats much better than griff originals but agree a harness would obviously help

Have to disagree, Elise seats have good shape but skimpy on padding.

Did a Ring tour last summer, no complaints even from my wife!

If you go straight from my car to a standard seat on a TD like we did last week, its like there is no lateral support at all, even my old BeeEmm has far more support and that's an old mans carsmile

Funny because I was complaining recently that the original seats wouldn't be up to it on track, I spent all wk end in the seat, other than being a little high I didn't move to much, being fairly tall I like the lotus seats, surely you could get some fitted with better bum cushions if you wish.

I've had a few jags in the past. I've always been pleased with the original seat, it's a good allrounder.

I think you have to get a seat that fits you!

Phil, I can just fit one width wise, unfortunately you are too "manly" for one!

Well I'd agree with that - it's just that the 'skimpy on padding' bit sits a bit uneasily with the Chim's sports tourer' brief (even if you're lanky and 12st like yours truly). I've done 800+ mile day round trips in the Chim and find the OE seats very comfortable. If track days were a big consideration however I would not have started with a Chim or Griff in the first place. smile

Quite right Eric, for a tourer they're fine although bit short in the back for me.

As a TD weapon these cars aren't suited particularly as standard but for me, the beauty is that you can modify to your hearts content!

Cheapest solution would be some self adhesive velcro, stick your self to the seat.... sorted

One solution I used before going for a full race seat was to sit on some of that rubber mesh they sell to stop rugs from sliding about. Doesn't look great, but works a treat.
