How to 'evict' bad neighbours?

Ok, a year down the line from the last 'neighbour' post I made (sadly), we've still got issues.
In fact it's escalating now.
Over the past few months I've caught (on CCTV) our neighbour bashing our wing mirrors in on our cars.
But last week it all came to a head, when my wife went out to head to the shops to find our neighbour had blocked us into our drive (again) with his van, whilst his drive was completely empty.
My wife tooted the horn on her car and he came storming out and started shouting at her through the window.
He reversed his van, and as my wife got out (to give up and come back inside), he drove his van back up to our car again.
So she jumped back in, and then he moved it.
My wife jumped out and came back in the house to tell me.
I called the police and reported it, but then noticed that the neighbours wife was now outside stood behind our car also on the phone (to what we now know was the police too).
Anyway, to me, this was a 'civil' neighbour dispute, so all I wanted was a reference number to send to the lettings agent.
Tonight, I'm 600 miles from home but get a call from my wife to say the police have just turned up to "get our story". Seriously, WTF.
Now I'm not worried, but I'm amazed the police came out, but am left wondering what on earth they would have said that didn't result in "don't block them in".
Anyway, they're coming back next Monday when I'm home (and will have downloaded the CCTV), but I have now had enough.
The lettings agent are not going to move them on, because the house is in good order and they pay on time, so they have no interest in the neighbour relations.
I need to understand what options (if any), I have of pursuing a forced eviction.
I fear this will be a short thread consisting of Bob Hope + 1 other, but cannot face another summer of this sh*t

I think they wanted to give the perception of being the innocent party to 'whatever'... although it's pretty clear cut.
Nevertheless I'll have that conversation on Monday.

Try the council dude, I've had that problem myself when renting and someone started escalating problems to the council about me.
The Letting agent for me had to respond formally with warnings of eviction etc. It was in the letting small print as well. The problem I caused .... I had 2 cars ( I kid you not). Crazy old dude never said anything to me ever, and the 'system' eventually quietened him up.

I feel for you.
We put up with "neighbours from hell" for seven years, with numerous calls to the police, environmental health, solicitors etc. Nobody seemed to be able to do anything, as the neighbours owned their house. So in the end we bought a house somewhere else and rented the original house out to the worst people that we could find - they had been evicted from their council house!
Neighbours sold up and moved out within six months!
Our old house is still rented out, but to good tenants.
Good luck.

From the very long thread well documented on here, this neighbour fronted me up on my doorstep.
I then went on to say "My wife tooted the horn on her car and he came storming out and started shouting at her through the window."
Having has this neighbour front off on our doorstep, knocking on the door was never going to be an option - especially given I said things have escalated to this point.
Now funnily enough after this, shopping wasn't high on the list of priorities.

I made an offer to the agents to guarantee the rent of the house for 2 months whilst they find someone else. I think I'll up the offer to 6 months to provide some added incentive.

I made an offer to the agents to guarantee the rent of the house for 2 months whilst they find someone else. I think I'll up the offer to 6 months to provide some added incentive.

Get on to the lenders and inform that the tenants of the place are creating a nuisance and asking if they have given permission to the mortgagor to rent out the property, and if they have to forward you a copy of that permission.
I'd be very surprised if they do actually let you have sight of the permission if it exists, but they will create a stink with the mortgagor of the house.
Obviously your problem will be now to find the home owner as his address will almost certainly be listed as the property address, but probably the easiest way is to send a recorded delivery letter to him out the house, with the details typed clearly and marked "only to be opened by Mr Blogs" - suggest you put nothing in the envelope, and then request to see who signed for it - this way you'll get to know if a redirect is in place, or if they are also opening his mail.
If the mail is being redirected, then at least you can get onto the owner directly.
The agent is clearly a right plughole.
I wouldn't offer to bribe the agent/owner with guaranteed rents, I'd be on the phone to them or better still, in their offices loudly complaining every time there is a problem.
A few times of having you making a fuss about how cr@p they are in front of their customers should elicit a response. Persistence is the key here, make the agents understand that when you have a problem, they have a problem!

had similar crap from our neighbours
do NOT retaliate or wind them up it will make things worse
put up with it and totally ignore them , be polite at all times , that will make them try more daring things to get you to bite , keep a log even better if you have cctv.
they will hang themselves if given enough rope , keep on at the police so a trail of evidence is built.
I didn't do too much of this and ended up filling the b
d in and ended up with a charge of ABH (found not guilty crown court) the bd was trying to get me put away and almost succeeded because he knew how to 'play' the system , don't get caught out and good luck.
ETA why did they not get charged with criminal damage re wing mirrors??

Does the van belong to your neighbour , or is it his employers van ?
If the latter , it might be worth contacting the employer and pointing out what is going on , also that if it happens again there is a possibility the van might be impounded ( vehicles blocking egress from premises can be removed , but not those preventing access ) .
An employer might be none too pleased at the prospect of his van being impounded .
If a company van , the driver ought also to be paying tax for the personal use aspect of being allowed to take the van home and use it to travel to work plus any other personal use .

We have been (deliberately) non-confrontational, and trying to do everything 'by the book'. purely so there is no counter argument for their actions.

I wouldn't have thought the offer of guaranteed rent would be considered a bribe, there wouldn't be any profit, but purely a mitigation of any losses by evicting these guys.
