Ordered myself a front splitter. Can anyone show me any pics of where/how it attaches? I am aware of the tendancies for these to be ripped off over speed humps and dont want to damage bodywork....

Soz no pic as mine ended up in the wheely bin after a mere 5 days after i had it put on....

Speed humps and carparks made very short work of removing it.

Mind you an American pimpmobile suspension could have stopped it.... or the ability to do turbo boost leaps like KniteRider.... or the A-team with an old oil barrel, a gas welder and an old truck when facing armed Mexican bandits....

Hope I have helped......

there's a bar that runs about 6 inches behind the end of the bodywork. i've seen splitters on that. might as well order 2 while you're at it tho

blimey, I knew they had a reputation for not lasting long but I didnt realise they were quite so "disposable".

My TVR is a second car so its not "that" often it gets taken over speed humps, although plenty of the local roads have some pretty awful surfaces. I am wondering ifs it worth changing the mounting for something more flexible or even on some sort of hinge so if it takes a hit it wont snap off but get pushed up....

Ahhh the velcro attached splitter..... blue tack?

seriously tho.... a compromise could be a quick release fitment (small bonnet pins perhaps)... so if want it attached for motorway blasts you can.. and then ditch it for town use.

At one point i consider replacing it with a semi ridgid plastic version which could bend and flex (rather than the solid ali version)...

I can nip out later and measure the normal fixing points if thats of any help to you?

yep, thinking I might do that as I dont anticipate any noticeable difference under 80mph anyway so the attachment for high speed runs might be an idea.

If you could measure the fixing points that would be great. cheers

Don't have one on my Chimaera but had one on my Cerbera, if I remember correctly (it might be a similar fit) it was fitted just infront of the towing eye and held on with 4 wood screws,

got mine from TVR gear, around £16 IIRC and you can barely notice them on the car as I recall they sit quite far back, just cannot remember exactly where! do remember seeing a pic somewhere...

cheers mate - best get some more detailed advice for the chim though. I assume it makes little difference to the downforce as to where its positioned. Perhaps might make more of a difference to the cooling aspect, although I actually dont want the car to run any cooler as with the leven kit in place it doesnt go above 70 degrees unless sat in traffic and then no more than 90

its not for the aesthetics but supposed for high speed stability and better cooling. In my case, its solely for the latter.

I have just sorted my suspension with fully adjustables and the handling is now sublime. However, all TVRs I have driven have been a little bit twitchy at 120+ and if I am going to test out the 150+ top end I want to do anything I can to try and make it stick to the tarmac. After the front splitter its a 5 foot rear wing
