I bet you think I don't really have a wedge. Still a lot of work to be done, but I did drive it out of the garage, and later back in. With no seats and a clutch needing to be bled, it was fun.

The sound is good, partly due to the Ansa tips, which give a faint whistle at some revs. I always liked the square tips; they seem to go better with wedge angles than round.

Bob,

Can you believe the weather is too hot? Mid eighties in the shade all afternoon (that's thirty degrees for those of you on the right side of the pond) and it only drops a little late in the evening. And of course much more in the sun.

I still have too much to do, with the inside gutted and still an electrical problem I cannot sort.

Between the wedge and the boat I don't know how I used to find time to go to work.

Bob,

I'm getting there, but slowly.

The inside is still a total mess. The biggest electrical problem is the yellow/black wire to the coil +ve. I have traced it back a long way and can't find the fault. A previous owner has obviously worked on the same problem. Also I have bypassed the engine run sensor to get the foel pump working with the ignition switch. Tried to do this for the coil +ve wire, but the engine cranked in the ignition position! So for now I just have a wire from battery +ve to coil. I remember I had this problem before I parked the car. How do you like my driving seat?

Here is the upholstery ready to be installed

I never understood what is wrong with the original TVR seats. I just had mine reupholstered. The two black strips are for the door cards. I tried making them shiny and didn't like them. So with a coat of zinc chromate paint I covered them with foam and black vinyl.

I hope my next pictures will look a bit better!

eek...That reminds me..Thats one job i have been putting off...Removing the dash!..Hope you can find the problem..I had an ignition fault that couldnt be traced so a fresh wire was run to the solenoid on the starter and the ignition switch...Have you had a go at the heater while the dash is out..Or is yours ok?

Looking good, I've been working on mine today, I'm going with the same interior colour scheme.
I'm recolouring the grey in tan to match some Alfa seats, I'm going with a chocolate brown Dash.
Is yours black or brown?

Thanks for the encouragement.

Rik, the person doing the upholstery did the upper and lower parts of the dash in the same camel (tan?) but couldn't get some of the tight bends right without it wrinkling. But using black they were able to get it okay. In fact I prefer the black, kind of like a black bonnet on a rally car.

That part was done several years ago, and I'm trying to remember the order they will have to go back in. Some work needs to be done by a contortionist, or at least somebody a lot smaller than I am.

I covered the piece which takes the radio, switches and heater controls with the same camel material. I am probably going to do the same with the main piece which holds the instruments, as well as the glove box door. I still have the veneered wood pieces, some spare veneer and some formica; maybe I will change my mind on that.

Well done. The car is going to be lovely.

I've always found the TVR seats (in all the Wedges) to be extremely comfortable, especially on longer journeys.

It would be nice if you could restore full 'British' power from the engine too.

And put the steering wheel on the proper side.

Graham,

My solution to improving the car's performance is to reduce weight - mine, not the car's. But that's easier said than done.

Jeff,

Yes, I have a new Personal wheel, so maybe I should mount it on the other side in case I get visitors from across the pond.

Just out of interest do you know what Chassis Number it is?

I'm trying to see if I can find any other "early" 280i soft top wedges.

Mine is in the first 10 built (no4 or no7 depending on if you believe the build date or chassis number).

I hope you have it running on the roads soon looks nice.

They are not running on the pace that is for sure.

Just wonder how much lewis's influence on the cars set up really had, especially as the way he is preforming in the Merc so far this season.

Pasogrande - good luck in getting your beast fully up and at it.
