Hi chaps,

Looking to take the lady to this place for her birthday meal as we both love american style BBQ food. If anyone is familiar with this restaurant how likely is it that i'm going to be able to walk in at around 5.30 - 6pm and get a table on a thursday night?

I would book, but they only do so for tables of 8 or more.

Thanks all.

I use clapham one quite a bit and if its the same booking system, go down and say you want a table for 2, if none are available they take your number and put you on the list... go for a pint nearby and they ring when ready. Max we have waited is 45 mins having a pint.

But at that time it shouldnt be an issue at all.

Jacobs ladder FTW.

Probably ok at that time, I've taken my neice & nephew in at around 5.30 and it was just warming up for the evening rush, which is busy.

There is an upstairs self serve counter service bit with high tables and stools, and a downstairs waitress served wooden panelled restaurant, so there is a lot of space, but it fills up so I wouldn't arrive much after 6, but it gets quieter later once the office people have gone home.

Just get yourself seated, order a Sam Adams, take your time over the menu and then get stuck in. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for the advice all, won't be for a couple of weeks yet but their menu looks positively mouthwatering. Will be off to see the Book of Mormon afterwards at the prince of Wales theatre, can't wait!

Weirdly enough, I went in this place on Tuesday for the 1st time, on recommendation of PH.

Awesome. I had burnt ends of brisket, with pulled pork and chips. yum

Couple next to us had ribs - massive portions.

I went in at around 3pm and it was virtually empty in the restaurant downstairs; perhaps 3 or 4 tables taken but you'd expect that at this time.

5.30 should be fine.
