New Cayman Option Essentials

Hi, I have finally decided to scratch my Porsche itch, and I am going to order a mew Cayman. I would like to know what options you feel are essential to have, so I can sell it when the time comes?
If I order the 2.7 then I can get quite a few options like (prices are there because I have cut and pasted it from the build your car on Porsche website). I would obviously prefer to order the S but It is stretching my finances, so that's why there are fewer options, but I will have to have the right options so I can sell it in 3 years time.

Everyone as different views on options but I really don't see anything wrong with the options you came up with on the S, so if that's your preference then go for it. Personally, I would not buy a used pdk without the paddles but the fact is lots of people don't spec these but the cars seem to sell anyway.
One thing to perhaps be mindful of though is colour schemes. Most like it conservative. I think it remains to be seen how these new two tone interiors do on the used market. I think the combination you've come up with shouldn't be too problematic though.

How long will you keep it? Do you need 3rd year warranty and breakdown?
PDK must have paddles
White is good and free, the two tone leathers are both nice conservative colours and so fine IMHO
Black decals on the side are utterly naff and I would knock my offer down by £200 for the cost of removing them, sorry

First off, all options are personal choice, but.....
If you go for PDK then sport design wheel with paddles is best choice, drop carbon door sills to cover price.
Have you seen the 18" wheels? One option that people will look for is at least 19" wheels.
I am sure someone will disagree but then if you ask about options expect a very varied set of answers.

I understand your concerns about selling in 3 years but this car is for you, not the next owner. It will still sell and I doubt the options you spec will recoup their cost to you in terms of final sale price or speed with which it sells. If you believe spec matters for resale, why no PCM?
This is pure conjecture but I suspect the market of Cayman buyers will tolerate greater variation in spec than 911s - many are 2nd or even 3rd cars. If you're willing to put up with just two seats, you probably understand that back to basics suits sports cars (but not grand tourers).
For instance my minimum spec would be sports seats, manual gearbox and Parkassist rear - but I wouldn't go for white/PDK irrespective of options. Spec what you want and enjoy your ideal car!

Also white is "in" at the moment, but may not be in a few years when you look to sell, which may depress value.
Why not go for a classic colour and perhaps get it wrapped in white, which can be taken off in future leaving you with a nice shiny classic colour to sell on or you have the option to keep it in white if it is still desirable then.

In terms of PASM I would say on the old model it was essential on 19s but I have driven a 981 Boxster on 20's with no PASM and it was smoother than my 2010 Cayman S on 18s. Try a car with and without and make up your own mind.

sport plus actually equates to quite a lot...OP asking this question on a forum is pointless, 100 people will give you 100 different answers!
for example i think you don't need the stickers, folding mirrors, 2 tone leather, sills, etc
for resale PCM will no doubt, help but i doubt you'll get the £2k back on it
i think i'd wait for PSE to be released then order one, as this no doubt will be "essential" - thats what i did with the boxster
sports seats plus are a must IMO and sport design steering wheel if your going PDK, PASM even without 20" rims, and while were at it 20" rims are a must to
