Got the RAC man here. Went to move my car this morning, turned the key & nothing. No fuel pump noise, no cranking. So far checked the fuel cut-off, fuel pump fuse as well as many others, man has used links to force the pump on & turned it over but still didn't fire. It's as if the immobiliser is stopping everything working, but I've not had to turn the immobiliser off to start it since it went to Selby last August??

Any help, pleeeeease??? I'm meant to be heading to Sheffield today & Chatsworth tomorrow!

...and now he's left & the car still isn't running. He 'thinks' its the immobiliser but has given up. Fuses & relays are ok, just something stopping the relays from switching.

Have you tried just unplugging the immobiliser and plugging it back in? I have to do that sometimes with mine as it gets itself all confused.

Mine is in the drivers side footwell, on the RH side behind the pedal box, where the ecu is.

Right I've since tried disconnecting the battery & left it for a while but still nothing. I've been rescued by a T350 & a Lancia Delta Intergrale & are currently heading out of Hull to Sheffield, so hopefully they might know what to do! Can't see me making it to Chatsworth though, which is what I'm mostly gutted about!

Could it be the auto fuel cut-off thingy. Push the button on the top of the fuel sender above the tank.

And isnt there something odd with the little immobilizer gizmo on the dash...if you accidentially press it or ?
The thing you can plug the plastic fob into

Yes sorry for the lapse updating on this one. It was the Meta immobiliser, not entirely sure what part of it or why it happened as it had been working perfectly the previous evening. Without going into detail, I have had to 'modify' the wiring to said unit to get it to foxtrot oscar and allow the car to run.

Massive thanks to Paul Smith off of PS Electronics for helping me out with this and enabling me to attend Chatsworth! Ironically, the car has never run better than on it's trip out on Sunday! Kicked the arris out of it on the way home & it felt awesome biggrin

If you ever hear of anyone that has a similar issue, I now know how to get around it, even if it's a temporary solution!

Hi, this sounds just like what's happening to me, working fine last week but won't start now. I can unlock the car fine no errors showing but when I turn the key nothing, just like when you've taken to long to start the car after unlocking.

Please let me know what you did to get round this problem?

Thanks

Sorry to hear that! Firstly, can you hear the fuel pump run when you turn the ignition on? Also does it turn over or do nothing at all?

Yep I can hear the pump go twice and when you turn the key nothing happens (I think error 0 appears on the dash)

My immobiliser was stopping my fuel pump from running, stopping it from turning over & then when I bypassed the relays to force it to turn over, found it was cutting the spark as well! It may well be an immobiliser issue you're having, but as I'm still learning about my car I'm not sure. It could be any number of things!

I had to cut my immobiliser out & link out various wires to get around it as a temporary measure. I could tell you which ones but it depends which model you have fitted and i would have to have a look again to see exactly which wires. Also I'm not sure if this may be frowned upon by a lot of people on here?!

Apparently you can buy a proper bypass for the immobiliser but I don't have one. Im not sure if ive been any use to you at all?! Let me know if you need any more help or info & ill at least try to help you!

If I left it then probably yes, but I only did it as a temporary fix to get me to Chatsworth! If I could leave it somewhere to get repaired then I would have done, but that would mean hiring a trailer to get it to said garage, and as it is my daily drive (can't afford to run 2 cars so it's Tuscan or bust!) I can't really leave it anywhere for any length of time without prior planning! Besides, I'm not with a specialist insurance company like most, it's insured the same as any other car on a standard policy.

Have a chat with David Fairclough @ HF Solutions and see what he says and/or get it replaced with something more up to date.

If it is still an issue.
