Anyone on here have any experience of this Tritton headset?

Fancy having chat and and game audio in the same thing and want it to be be wireless, especially as when using my new fanatec wheel setup there are quite a few cables about!
They seem to be pretty cheap at the moment on amazon, cheap than people are asking on that auction site.
Any useful insight welcomed, no 'triton are s
t turtle beach ftw' type nonsense!
Cheers

I much prefer the style of the trittons over the turtle beach models.
Currently playing dead space 3, which is good through the surround sound but I bet at night with a headset is more 'intimate'
I think I'm gonna end up buying these sometime this week... Will let you know what I think if I do / if I remember!

The Tritons are probably a good shout. I bought a set of Turtle Beach XLC's ages ago, when my Xbox mic broke. They have actually been very good. Robust, good sound quality and decent value I would say. They've lasted long enough.
That said, I do hanker for something a little more comfortable and the Tritons look like a good bet. Those ear enclosures look soft.

I have had Turtle beach X1s (now the x11s I believe) and I currently own x31s, Tritton Warheads and Astro A40s.
X31s are flimsy and very lightweight. They don't give you the best sound quality either. But if you aren't into competetive gaming you can't really go that far wrong with them. I think they are around the £80 mark when I got them.
The Warheads look the nicest, but can be a tiny bit tight at times. It would also be nice to have a mix amp sort of thing to control the sounds rather than dials on the headset. The best thing is they are completely wireless including the connection to the controller. I think these are around £200-250
I only got the A40s as HMV were selling them at £99 instead of the normaled retail of £200. They are by far the comfiest. They look a bit tacky compared to the Warheads. But the ability to control chat and voice sounds etc.. Is the best feature. I'd also say the sound on these is the nicest. I now use this headset more than the warheads.

I’ve owned the Tritton Pro headset for over a year. Well worth it in my opinion, the surround sound effect works surprisingly well and has certainly added more atmosphere to games. You can plug them in to anything with an optical input/output, so they're also great for blu-ray when you don't want to wake the misses up.
Don't buy any gaming headset. They are all rubbish, they don't sound good, they are not built well and they rip you off. You are much better off buying a proper set of headphones and a clip on mic.
These £30 headphones are better than any other gaming headset you can buy (I am talking from experience). I see gaming headsets as a bit of a scam.
Get these headphones:

Do a small mod to them:

Buy a clip on mic:

If you are playing on pc and have a little budget over buy a sound card, just make sure its made buy a asus:

I bought the Turtle Beach P11s (I know, they're wired and OP was thinking wireless) about a year ago, and at the time I considered them the greatest thing I'd ever bought for my PS3. These days, whilst I still think they're pretty good, there are one or two flaws with them.
First off, without the DSS encoder thing, you never get the true sensation of surround sound. For instance, on Battlefield 3, I had a helicopter circling above me. Normally, as it circled around, you'd expect to hear the direction of the sound gradually change, and to a degree it does that. But, when it's directly in front or behind me, it doesn't work so well, it'll either have a bias to the left or right and there's a sudden jump from one side to the other, rather than the gradual change and 50/50 distribution of sound you'd expect. The DSS encoder thing is supposed to eradicate this, but at £50 on top of the purchase price, it's not worth the bother.
I'll second the comments about mic sensitivity, once on BF3 while flying the jet, thought I'd stick some Danger Zone on my laptop rather quietly, but my squad all heard it loud and clear; probably better than I could with the headset on! I'll also second the comments on build quality; they do feel a bit flimsy, especially where the cups attach to the headband.
Whilst I can't comment on the Tritons, I can say that in my most honest view, the Turtle Beach headsets are a decent starter headset, but if you're more serious about your gaming, then something else would probably be better.

Be carefull if you are wanting to use a headset with a fanatec wheel as although they have the mic socket they doont work! I have one of the lower down tritton headsets gathering dust as I bought it for the same reason.
Just had a quick look at the reviews and they say that it has to be connected to the controller so I wouldnt go for it. The only way I know of to use voice chat and the fanatec wheel is to use a bluetooth headset, I keep meaning to pick one up as I am often the only one without a mic when playing with the PH Forza club.
