Currently looking for graphic design jobs. The OH forwarded an ad which appears to be from an organization of devout 'god botherers'. The following line was the best bit...

"This position is non-salaried as all WEC personnel look to God to provide their personal needs."

WTF?

I'm not sure how having no money would wash with the landlord, the local council, the water company, the supermarket, the petrol station, the energy companies, etc. confused

Sounds fine for someone who wishes to go back in time and join a medieval monastery!

Meanwhile, a bugbear of mine is when an ad states 'a criminal background check will be carried out which the applicant must pay for'.

Why the hell should I pay some lackey to search the police database to prove that I know that I don't have a criminal recordconfused?

And, should I not be successful in my application, do I get the fund repayed- doubtful.

I'd engage them in conversation for sts and giggles.

Ask them how they paid for the ad. Why did they need to advertise at all? Surely God would provide free Photoshop skills.

I'm guessing that it's tax deductible though.

I had to pay for Scottish Disclosure, before joining the MOD on a 6th month contract, but I put it through my Ltd Company as expenses.

"Job posted: Caterer

Skills required: Catering, sailing, cage fighting, poet, ruler of small middle-eastern country"

Or job ads that advertise a post, but want you to have the skill set of other disciplines, to an extent where another FT post is almost covered.
