yeh by far the easiest way is to cut the rear off and slide the new pipes over the perforated pipes, that way you can leave all the sound wadding in place to help dull the *ringing resonance* you tend to get when you take it all out

Customer wanted all wadding out, and belive it or not its the quikest way of doing it , the other way i sugested was to eliminate the box alltogether and just re-weld the 3 fixing holes in the correct position, result no box at all.

andy will pick this up in the morning and let me know how loud it is once he has fitted it, however the tube is 55mm od 308 s/s 1.2mm wt this will slip over the baffel once removed, because of the thickness of tube there will be less resenance generated. btw this mod is all done in s/steel not cheap stuff here

) to you sir all parts are s/steel if you have problem with it within 3 months ie split/ hole bring it me back and i will fix it foc, however i will re-charge for putting it back to normal if its to noisey. Motorway speeds ask others who have had it done (andy will post shortly)

When I had my car MOTs last October (which reminds me, I must check when it's due) the tester told me there is no specific noise limit for cars, however, the exhaust has to be sound (excuse the pun) and 'not excessively noisy'. So it's pretty much in the hands of the tester.

Hmmm not really. The car as standard has to meet sound levels which are less than that for competition cars to meet type approval. Once the car is out there, it is an offence to have a car that is excessively noisy and if stopped it is pretty difficult to defend against if the exhaust has been modified. The problem is that there is no real definition of excessive.
Driving manner is probably a big factor though but it is not uncommon for cars to be pulled over. Mainly Max Power types mind you.
