Just bought a game for my XBOX360 which involves a real guitar plugged into the xbox.Problem is there have been a lot of people reporting bad lag issues with the sound. The solution?Turning off any video processing filters that the tv may have?.Anyone any idea whereabouts in my Panasonic Viera i would find what to turn off,or what Panasonic might call the filters in 'their' terms? Thanks!!

Basically any image enhancement type settings. You may also have a specific game setting that does this for you.

TBH it may not even be a problem for your TV, some are worst than others. Have you tried it yet and noticed a delay?

Yes there's a delay making the game unusable as you have to hit the notes on time etc..Best result i've had is chosing teh 'THX' mode.I just happen to read someone using this 'mode' when they were having a completely different issue, they just happened to say this mode turns off a few processing gubbings?.Its just about useable now.

Console Gaming
Compared to a lag-free CRT monitor, the Panasonic TX-P42G30 lagged by only around 24ms in the [Game] picture mode, and indeed, the TXP42G30 provided a highly responsive gaming experience with almost no delay inbetween the user and the game world on screen.

The strange thing about the XBOX i have is that there's an hdmi out,and right next to it a socket for putting in a big plug for rca/composite cables.I've read that it's best to use the hdmi just for carrying the video, but use this composite out on the xbox as well just for the audio, you can't!The way the xbox outs are designed you can't plug in the two sockets at the same time, they get in each other's way??It's a pretty silly layout.Or i'm pretty silly?;-)

No it is a silly layout, its also a problem for people with older Surround amps that want to use an optical port which is only available with adapters or certain cables from the AV port.(although optical is included on later models I believe)

When I helped a mate setup his XBOX and amp we used a component cable that included the optical out port and "Modified" the plastic casing of the plug to allow an HDMI cable to fit at the same time. When I say modified I mean butchered obviously smile

Ignore the Annoying Accent but this video shows what I mean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FptCB_3DOz4
