£250 bargain basement Puma - Ebay Special.

So while bored at work yesterday I happened to look at the cheap cars going up on eBay, as you do.
Saw a little Puma with no MOT but taxed till end June, and thinking it didn't look too bad I chucked in a speculative bid of £250 and lo and behold it was accepted this morning!
It's an X reg 1.7, 113k, nearly FSH and has aircon and heated screen. Also came with a Parrot kit and a reasonable CD player.
Having noted the speed at which the seller accepted my offer I was a bit nervous when I travelled down to Looe today to collect the car, but having driven back to Plymouth it actually doesn't seem to be a bad little car.
The owner had spent money when needed, as it has two almost brand new front tyres, and great rears (though only cheap brands).
The car was apparently not put through an MOT as she needed a bigger car. I did think it was probably a dreadful MOT fail, but having got home and checked, sure enough it hasn't been put through one.
Drove OK on the way home, doesn't feel like there would be anything major for the MOT man to grumble about, but you just never know, so I guess that will be the first thing to do. The main problem at the moment is the tailgate doesn't open, but I'm sure that won't be insurmountable.
Took some pictures, but only got a rubbish camera phone at the moment, so they are not great.
Rear arches aren't too bad, but will need tidying at some point. Hardly a priority right now!

Just back from the MOT - needs a couple of front shocks, which wasn't a surprise, as it was pretty bouncy on the front end. Side light bulb and it's running way high on the CO emissions, so first port of call is a lambda sensor. Can't complain at that really, shouldn't cost a lot to put right. A couple of front struts from a breakers and a new sensor won't break the bank, and then I can see if I want to refresh it, or just smoke it!
Shouldn't be more than £350 with a new ticket, so happy with that!

You could shove that back on ebay and double your money easily, but worth keeping aint she really! I've seen some Puma's with NO arches still driving around, where you can actually see through the car almost, scary stuff, yours look great compared to those.
IF I keep it (big if - off to look at a Millenium at some point this week, just got to sort out what the seller actually wants for it) then I'll get the arches repaired with 206 wing sections.
