ProCharged Can-Am - End of an Era
Discussion
Hi All
Due to being made redundant last year and no sign of a new job yet I am having to put the car up for sale. I have really enjoyed my Ultima ownership and will be sad to see the car go. There are not many cars around that give you the same buzz as an Ultima. I'll never foget the first few drives once I'd installed the new engine and ProCharger. The sound is all consuming until the throttle is burried and the bypass valve shuts and all hell is unleashed. I couldn't stop grinning for days.
I'll be at Stoneleigh next weekend but the car has yet to get it's new MOT so won't be there. I look forward to catching up with some of you then.
Kind regards Dave
End of an Era for me but the start of a new life for the car.

Hi Dave
Sometimes life kicks you where it hurts and sacrifices have to be made to move forward.
Work or a new direction will come along, and you will be able to consider another Ultima build. There are bound to be changes you would make on the next build now you have the experience.
The pain has to come first though. It is bad enough having to sell but we all value our cars for more than the current market will stand so I hope you are not too disappointed with what it fetches.
Good luck and keep posting and hope to meet at Stoneleigh.

It's working for me at the moment! Started new job Montreal 6 weeks ago and it's great. Only problem is not being able to bring my Ult over here...
Good luck selling the CanAm Dave. Sorry to hear you have to sell. Someone is going to get a very special motor....
Regards to all from over the pond!

It is difficult starting your own business and best done from a position of strength, both financially and knowing what you are doing. If you go down that route make sure you do your research thoroughly.
It is easy for us to give advice from a secure (reasonably!!!) position, but if you have tried the obvious then looking at it differently may be the way forward.
What businesses are doing well in Cheshire? Could you adapt your skills to fit a busy company?
Classic car repairers/restorers have never been busier and many of your skills could fit!
Your car looks very well priced, but I hope you don't have to sell.
Good luck.

Hi Dave
Sorry to hear about the job and selling the canam. Wouldn't Stoneleigh be a good sales opportunity? I know you don't have an mot, but you're welcome to borrow my trailer to get it there. I'm in hospital at the moment an am unlikely to use it or the GTR for months
The price looks way to cheap for all the bits and bobs you've done and the effort. If I didn't already have the GTR I'd be very tempted, all that power and much more headroom. Good luck with the sale mate.
