Wipers, lights, indicators and fan stuck on earth fault?

Aggghhhrr, Have been running around in my now turbo chimaera, but have an intermittent leccy fault.
Combination of body off, Megasquirt ECU and assorted sensor wiring means I now have a headache.
Basically, sometimes when I hit the alarm button to de-immobilise it and fire the fuel pump I get wipers on, lights on, indicators stuck on and cooling fans trying to spin. The car starts up fine. Really annoying as when I get the multimeter out the fault goes away!
This seems only to occur when the car is hot. I have done the 'pushing all the wires about in various places' to no avail, but need to get more scientific now. About to get stuck into the wiring diagrams in the Bible, but thought I would throw it out there in case anyone has some smart suggestions.
