Mod wise amp kit
Discussion
Hi guys, I have bought a mod wise aerial amplifier to boost the generally crap radio signal. Fitting basically consists of threading a rather fat wire from boot to radio, so I am wondering:
1) can I get it through the centre console
2) does it have to go through the sill as per this link
www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=8&t=51585 (thanks MOD500 but it sounds a bit tricky)
3) any other wiring tips and hints
4) do I need a special tool to get the Pioneer radio cassette unit out?
Thanks

I would run it down the nearside above floor level. You can come out on the n/side by the head unit, down to the floor, under the floor mat. Keep going towards the boot until you get to the bottom seat belt mounting by the sill where you can cheat if you do not want to unbolt anything. Then you get into the void where the door locking solenoids are and over the arch where there is a hole big enough to get an arm through (although you cannot reach it). You are in the boot.
Pioneer original stereo requires two flat keys one for each side, you can get away with two flat bits of metal if pushed.
Good luck,
Ivan
