Can anybody tell me what is the purpose of the 'baffle' (for want of a better word) in the rockers covers ?

I only ask because I have just bought some polished covers, but they were still filthy inside, so I removed (with a struggle) the baffles to clean up behind them.

Should I re fit the baffles ?

The real 'TVR' covers never had them (but are a tad taller). Personally I wouldn't refit them. If fitting only below the flame trap has any possible point. Unless your rocker shaft is really pissing oil out they won't make much difference (and if it is think about replacing it) they are much more a sticking plaster to an old tired worn out engine IMO.

Hi Dave. I have new rocker and shaft, so no problems with them.

But what is the pupose, no manufacturer adds cost without a reason.
