Hi Guys

New member, just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on remapping a panamera diesel.

Apparently, the ecu has to come out as opposed to simply doing it through the OBD. The ECU has special screws around it that have to be drilled then replaced with screws that are original too.

The gains they are showing seem very impressive so I just wanted some thoughts.

My thoughts are it will invalidate the warranty on a 60k+ car (rendering it unsaleable) and really.....what's the point !!!!

Panamera diesel is a lovely family car, sports car it most definitely isn't.

If you want it faster, I would suggest to either buy a GTS / Turbo variant or consider BMW 535D / 640D ??

Thanks for the reply but upgrading to a gts or a turbo will cost a lot more than a remap and I wouldn't generally go to a BMW from a Porsche I think they are in different leagues.

I wish there was real feedback on what the results from a remap are that way I could weigh up the pros and cons.

Having had a Panamera Diesel for 2 days i wouldnt bother with it if you havnt bought it already. If you like the car then great but i thought it was too big, didnt handle particularly well (even in Sport mode) and used too much fuel. Its not the car for me i have to say but for others maybe so.

I drove a remapped 970D and the difference is very noticable.
There is a serious increase in torque.
I just wonder what the long term downsides will be on the engine and tranny.
