Putting a Car back on the Road still on Buff log book..

Hi,
I have a Austin 7, which is soon to go back on the road. Its fully rebuild engine goes in a week today, and be all ready to go.

It is a 1932 car and we still have the buff log book. What steps is it to get the car back on the road?

New V5 from DVLA? How does one go about it? The car hasn't been on the road since 1960's.
Tax Disk?
Is that it?

The DVLA are in my experience helpful with genuine classic cars on the original chassis with the original mechanics and a buff log book. It should be a straight forward send the details to the DVLA, arrange an inspection and off you go. There are individuals advertising in the classic press as experts in the field and if you have problems may be able to help. But ts should be straight forward given the authenticity of the car which sounds very original. Good luck to you and enjoy the car. What a worthwhile project, well dome indeed.

You'll need to get a dating certificate from a DVLA-recognised authority. Once you have that, and the car is insured (on the chassis number initially), you can pop down to a DVLA office (before they close) and fill out the forms (the form number escapes me). The buff logbook should suffice as evidence, as it links the chassis number to the registration number "in period". Some clubs are DVLA approved for this kind of thing, and usually charge a small fee for the service.

Join an Austin 7 club, they have dedicated people that deal with the DVLA for this exact situation.
