MR2 mk3 intermittent slipping clutch

Evening all, My friends MR2 roadster appears to be having an intermittent slipping clutch. I drove it the other week and it was slipping really bad then on the return journey nothing at all and it appears to have been that way for around a month.

Then yesterday it's started slipping again.

My theory is that as its intermittent that would be a potential liquid getting on to the clutch?

We have access to a ramp at weekend so I can take a better look, but any advice os suggestions on what to look out for will be greatly appreciated.

Could be a sticking (corroded) clutch slave cylinder. Does the pedal feel any different when it's slipping, e.g. bite point?
