1989 Golf Mk II - 20k mileage - value??
Discussion
Hi All,
I've recently bought a red MK II Golf from an elderly lady who's licence has run out who lives nearby. The car was bought in 1989 brand new and has exactly 20,744 miles on it. It has been serviced every year and has never failed an MOT - log books, V5 all intact, stamped etc.
Prior to her husband falling ill it was his pride and joy and has been kept under a cover in the garage for the last 5 or so years aside from the occasional trip to the local Morrisons (or so I'm told).
I'm 22 years old and not really car savvy.
Is this a car that would be better off in a loving home or is perhaps a collectors item with a little value? Or should I just see it as a car with a really low mileage and run it until I can afford something a little more modern.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Carl

I would say about £6350 at a guess is its value.

It's not a GTI (unfortunately) - it's a 1.3 engine and has the double headlights either side? It's Red...
Golf Ryder. May be worth £2,000 to the right person. Should sell in five minutes flat for £1,000. Needs to be immaculate and to have ALL old MOT's to verify the mileage. It'll make a nice car for someone.Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
