That article has got at least one factual inaccuracy in it:
"Bez, who will turn 70 in November, joined Aston as chief executive officer and chairman in July 2000, following its sale to a Kuwaiti consortium led by David Richards."
Indeed, Bez came as part of the Ford Management, IMHO if this story is true, its not before time. The average CEO of a large blue chip company has a shelf life of about 36-48 months. Bez is well past his sell by date! "Bez, who will turn 70 in November, joined Aston as chief executive officer and chairman in July 2000, following its sale to a Kuwaiti consortium led by David Richards."

Bring on the new blood and lets see where they can take this great marque!

Richards & the Kuwaitis didn't buy AM until 2007.
Well, it says this:"Bez, who will turn 70 in November, joined Aston as chief executive officer and chairman in July 2000, following its sale to a Kuwaiti consortium led by David Richards."

"Bez, who will turn 70 in November, joined Aston as chief executive officer and chairman in July 2000, and stayed on following its sale to a Kuwaiti consortium led by David Richards."

The cheeky fecker edited his article between me posting and you posting. Maybe he was reading this forum at the time?!"Bez, who will turn 70 in November, joined Aston as chief executive officer and chairman in July 2000, and stayed on following its sale to a Kuwaiti consortium led by David Richards."
No other news feeds reporting it yet.
Hope its true.
Dr Bez was great at the start, but get the impression AM has all become about him and his ego these days. Too many costly errors in the past few years which he is responsible for e.g. Cygnet, outsourcing Rapide build - then having to take it back in house, DB9/Virage/DB9.2 etc.
Hope its true.

really not doing the brand any favoursToo early to celebrate just yet though as it look like he will just have more time on his hands, wasting more of the company cash that ought to be going into R&D

Yes. You know he takes one of every Aston as his own. So therre are actually 78 "One-77" in existance: chassis 77 went to the customer, then they build another for him.Hope its true.
